A friend of mine sent me this link to this journal/sculpture. I don’t know who created it or what it is made of, but I thought it was interesting and beautiful. If you click on the photo, it will take you to a larger version of the image so you can see all of the details. If you have any information about this piece of art or its maker, please leave a comment.

So I took a seat. Laurence Fishburne plugged me in. I went to a magical place.
I woke up as they unplugged me…
“I know Google Fu”
“David Kracov is a sculptor, painter, and animator, who received a BFA from studied at Rhode Island School of Design.”
rest in the link.
Thank you! I am glad to know who created this and to have more information about the artist.
It’s an award. http://www.thefunlearning.com/2012/01/butterflies-bursting-out-of-book-of.html
Thank you for the information.
Book sculpture seems to be something of a trend lately – I’ve not seen it done with Journals much, but magazines and books, yes.
Joao Machado does interesting work with magazines;

Guy Laramee (http://www.craftycrafty.tv/2012/01/new_year_inspiration_sculpted.html)
And Brian Machado are names you’ll see a lot too.
Thank you for the great links. I love seeing books used as an art form. The links have inspired me to make use of my old magazines and books.
